This post was easy. It comes as no surprise that I LOVE my friends. It is true that a spouse should first be your best friend and my husband is my best friend. However, I am of the belief that a person’s life can only be richer and more beautiful if you share your heart boldly.
I have been accused of spreading myself too thin, for giving too much to those who will never return what I give. I believe love is always worth the risk. Some of the worst pain is born of love but it is also the birth of the greatest joys. I can’t help but feel my life is so much fuller having shared and given what I have given.
I share my heart with many people because I can’t imagine my life without them. I have several friends who I would give the world to make sure they are happy! Like a marriage friendships involve trust, honesty, sacrifice, and an unconditional and forgiving spirit. The platonic and unconditional love of friends is a beautifully romantic feeling.
Moments come
Unexpected
Hypnotizing us
With magic
We cling tight
To the comfort
To the ease
To those moments
That beg for more time
Moments binding us
Forever to a memory
Shared in loving friendship
A platonic romance
Born of a connection
Far beyond physical limits
Romance filled with enough hope
To fuel a million journeys
To the brightest stars

Keep giving out your heart, Hasty. The world could always use more love.
Nicely shared
I really like the way your passion and love shines through as much in a post about platonic love as much as romantic love. This is a lovely phrase:
A platonic romance/ Born of a connection/ Far beyond physical limits

I know exactly what you mean.. and depsite hurt and stuff.. love is far more rewarding than guarding the heart.. for what? so one can say I was only hurt once or twice? Really liked this sentiment and poem
hahahahaha it is huh.. now I got that song in my head.,, lol
Love is like a tug-of-war…we need to keep some balance in between ourselves and the one’s we love.
Beautiful said, hasty.
This is medicine for my sad soul today… I feel the same way about real friendships. They are real when there is trust, communication, sacrifice, and honor, and when you have a friend like this, it’s priceless. Good friends are so good to have in life. I say my soul is sad today because I am so unbalanced, and I dont really know why… I think I’ll write about it here shortly… but this piece made me think of the good friends I have, and it made me smile. Thank you so much for sharing..

I feel the pain in your words….I also can tell you I have been there…am still right there with you! Good luck! xoxo
