JUST PROMISE ME

He ate a huge piece of her

Digging in with claws

And the sharpest teeth

Blood covered the ground

Were he sat and feasted

On the girl he found

Words were all he needed

To convey sticky silky lies

Catching her in his web

That he carefully disguised

She struggled so little

She was ready to die

Even in the hands

Of this perverted demise

With one last breath

She looked into his eyes

And asked this one thing

Before supper time

“Just promise me….

….you love me”

  1. First of all, that picture freaks me out a little. Second of all, I love that at the end, all you wanted was to know you were loved, even though you were being devoured. I think you know the answer.

  2. Emotional cannibalism–tragic, but happens too often.
Why do we so often let people drain us just because we want to be loved? And why is it that the monsters know exactly what lies we want to hear?
    Well done!
