CUDDLE IN MY WARMTH

IMG_8108

I fear I might lose you
I worry I can’t carry us both
My grip is strong
But is it strong enough?
One day at a time
Careful not to waste them
Trying so hard to slow down
To enjoy the ease of our pace
But the rivers current is strong
It wants to carry me in its song
As we walk hand in hand
Stopping now and then
To skip stones across its surface
To build sand castles to dream in
But if we aren’t careful
The song will carry one of us away
Swept off to another land
To another beach
To different stones
To different castles
Stand away from the rocky shore
Come sit by the campfire
And cuddle in my warmth
Listen to the song my heart sings
And forget all other melodies
