CRAVING

I craved the lies he told

The devil and his words

Beautiful lullabies

He sang with truth

His clever disguise

A fan of every line

Disciple of his flattery

My pulse raced

With every pause

My heart quickened

With every verse

But they were figments

Of my imagination

Fueled by desperate need

A hopeful want

That I will never find

But within pages

Filled with make believe

  2. Awesome… now do one that doesn’t have a devil in it. Or anything dark. Just give us all some love-sugar-diabetes…
I just posted a poem that takes sucking up to a whole new level. If it doesn’t get me freshly pressed, I am hanging up my keyboard and fingers.
