I started to have the wickedest dreams:
I’m just a clown on stilts
Walking on murky energy streams
Bouncing balls of maniacal laughter
Pleasing deranged and cheering crowds
Then I spot you in one of these mares
Flying around on a swinging trapeze
You make my heart malfunction
My normally defiant beats step in line
Love doesn’t come in sachets, you mention
As you wink your thick coated eyelashes
That would make a chimney-sweep cry

I perceive:
It won’t be easy
Dating the dark magician’s daughter
Because what looks like a fun-house
Is just a smidgeon more sleazy
So smitten I plunge from ten feet
To catch my hopping heart like a toad
No one can fix my broken heartbeats
You laugh as you poof into smoke
Every time I awake from the absurdity
I realize, what’s the point of learning
Especially when it’s always too late
I love all your brokenness
But it’s breaking us both

And in the end:
You and I are still humans
Just forgetting to be humane
