Maybe Warrior
Quailed to see
The hurt contained
Within the beastly
Monstrosity
Such towering
Pain and love
Conjoined
By nine heads
Tying survivor
Knots into
Each others
Loosened threads
The Demon
Snickered, sharpening
His knives
He knew again,
He’d slice at them
And skewer
Their insides
Reducing
Each of them
By way of
Abuses past
Into nothing
But worthless
Souls
Bleeding
Made up sins
Onto the stony earth
Grasping at his lies
Worth their weight
In trauma, and
Certain scars are
All that they deserve
But where one head
Bows down in pain
The other eight
Stand up straight
Defying the beast
Each holding out
Their hands to gently lift
That bowed head
Up again
No surrender
Accepted
In this battle
But each warrior
Tends the others
Until all
Find victory:
A light blinking
At the end
Of the tunnel
To the rhythm
Of nine hearts
Beating
As won
