LET ME LOVE YOU ANYWAY…

Today I am very happy to host my closest friend Lizzi and her blog post on bullying.

BUT FIRST…

I want to start your day with a poem we wrote several weeks back.  I saved it because I love the message and feel it represents a wonderfully compassionate attitude.  We all have moments when we need someone to LOVE US ANYWAY!

Written by Lizzi (considerer) and Hastywords

Bring me the storm clouds of your sky-strewn mind
Bring me the flotsam and jetsam the tsunami left behind
Bring me the dark corners you want nobody else to find
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me the tears that constantly flood you with fear
Bring me the consternation that makes logic less clear
Bring me the worries derailing you and allow me to steer
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me the screeching of voices which never cease
Bring me the bitch and the whine and the nag and the tease
Bring me the flint-eyed growling of a soul never at peace
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me the joyful smiles and all those filled with sorrow
Bring me your hopes and dreams your wishes for tomorrow
Bring me your weakness when it’s my strength you need to borrow
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me the light and glory of a final sunset morn
Bring me the best of the future, the past and the pre-dawn
Bring me the place where we cried, with our knives drawn
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring your self-hatred and avoidance of truth
Bring your demand for things impossible to prove
Bring jagged ugliness no-one else can smooth
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me your frustration and anger misshapen
Bring me your turmoil and hurt worded weapons
Bring me the pain that beats you plum flattened
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me the voices which tear you inside
Bring me the you that you wish you could hide
Bring me the knots your emotions have tied
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me the sadness so deep in your bones
Bring me the ‘Lonely though you’re not alone’
Bring me the lostness and lack of heart’s home
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me the whatever’s and the I don’t knows
Bring the feelings you just can’t diagnose
Bring your hopeless and twisted morose
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me your hurt and your empty insides
Bring me the times when your mirrors all lied
Bring me the curves of your heart – never hide
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me the silent tears you hide so well
Bring me the jealousy before it swells
Bring me the torment your memories yell
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me your ugly, your warts and hard work
Bring me ‘high-maintenance’ and when you’re a jerk
Bring me the place where the truth of you lurks
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me your monsters, your slayers, your slain
Bring me the shadows which still haunt your name
Bring me the way that you feel it’s *your* shame
And let me love you
Anyway…

Bring me the ways that your show must go on
Bring me your nightmares when daylight is gone
Bring me the dull bits which once brightly shone
And let me love you
Anyway…

    • HEY! How is it two months and I never saw this? Sorry G! You’re awesome. And Hasty’s taught me a lot about love. I’m learning so much from my friends.

Today it’s to love extravagantly. I want to do that.

Thanks for your beautiful feedback ❤

  3. I hadn’t seen this before, so thank you for posting again. I loved every bit of this poem. The repetition of the lines reinforces that no matter what, they will always be loved. Ahhh… yes!
